History

Fusing the uncomfortable truth, mindfulness, and genuine stories to paint a musically driven reflection of his own life, West Coast-based rapper and producer Belzar strips music back to its purest form. Honest wordplay, paired with his polished, melodic productions are the vehicle through which he inspires listeners and minds alike.

Growing up surrounded by crime in South Central L.A, his family eventually moved to what is now his hometown of Montclair, California. While his mother worked in L.A, the long commutes acted as the journeys that initiated Belzar into a lifelong obsession with sound. Sitting in the back seat, he would soak in oldies, soul music and Hip-Hop, with these early influences being heard in his productions to this day.

Creating his own beats since 2006, Belzar's captivating strain of Hip-Hop touches upon themes of love, goals, dreams and the struggles that come from existing as a human being in modern society. Due to his own mental health struggles earlier in life, he uses music as a way to cope and hopes that his thought-provoking lyricism and enchanting productions can act as a relief of stress and anxiety for others.

A staple of the Inland Empire, California Hip-Hop scene, Belzar has opened the stage for the likes of Murs (Living Legends), Reverie, Blu, 2mex, Chino XL and many others. Additionally, he has toured regionally across Southern California for The Backyard Tour (2015), and also performed at the Make Music Festival in Pasadena. He has collaborated with producers such as Dopeboyzmusic (responsible for the sample in Eminem’s track ‘Killshot') as well as Tone Jonez (Grammy Nominated Producer).

With an abundance of brilliant releases under his belt, he is currently working on his debut album entitled 'The Journey'. Releasing in the summer of 2022, fans can expect a multitude of new tracks that encapsulate the many talents of Belzar. When not producing music or touring, Belzar can be found trucking and practicing naturism.
